Sports and Athletics

    The Sports branch is here to make sure you have everything you need to get in shape or maintain the shape you are in. Barnes Field House has seven combination handball and racquetball courts, a main gymnasium with two basketball and volleyball courts, a well equipped fitness center and weight room, sauna in the men’s and woman’s locker room and karate instruction. The center offers a collection of Nautilus machines, Life Cycles, Stair Steppers, treadmills, rowing machines, stationary bikes and Nordic Trac machines. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday 5 AM-9 p.m., Saturday, Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for more information call 533-3180.

    The Eifler Sports Plaza also has a complete collection of sport and fitness equipment and two multi-purpose athletic fields. In addition to the Field House and the Sports Plaza there are five lighted combination softball and flag football fields, seven lighted tennis courts, one outdoor swimming pool and Bujalski Track and Field Complex located near Barnes Field House. Instruction in swimming, water aerobics and scuba are taught by certified instructors. For more sport information call 533-5031 or 533-3858.

Barnes Field House also contains a 25-meter, heated swimming pool.

Gut busters with Dianne is every other Saturday May 10th & 24th

 You must sign-in at the front counter in order to participate.  Classes start on time!

All classes must have two or more participants to conduct class. 

Classes are subject to cancellation due to low participation!

 Instructors are subject to change at anytime. 

All fitness classes free for all MWR users!

CARDIOVASCULAR CLASSES

ALL CLASSES INCLUDE SOME ABDOMINAL WORK AND STRETCHING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

SUNRISE SPLASH WATER AEROBICS: Lower-impact cardio workout.  Water aerobics improves cardiovascular conditioning.  Because of the water's resistance, water exercise can also improve your strength and flexibility, leading to better muscular endurance and balance.

STEP/CARDIOKICK: A 60 minute workout on the step with fun and exciting combinations and a “go for it” attitude. All step classes are at an intermediate and advanced level unless otherwise specified.

.INDOOR CYCLING CLASSES

SPINNING: Spinning is essentially aerobics on wheels.  There are no special bicycle skills required to participate. Your own perceived exertion will be your guide as you do not have to keep up with anyone.
